Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire
In Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, you travel through the region of Hoenn catching new Pokemon. With this game, the total Pokemon count is brought up to 386. The bad part about these new games are that they aren't compatible with the previous two generations. Oh well, at least the graphics are extremely improved.
The antagonists of this game are Team Magma in Ruby and Team Aqua in Sapphire. They are trying to awaken the legendary creatures, Groudon, the creator of Continents and Kyogre, the expander of oceons, respectively.
Another added bonus in this game is that you know both your parents. :o Your mom stays at home as usual, but your dad is Norman, leader of the 5th gym specialising in normal type pokemon. Can you believe that? You actually get to battle your own dad. You also help a boy named Wally who eventually becomes a second rival along with the opposite gender main character who is the son/daughter of Professor Birch.
